One Vision, Many Voices: Aligning Transit and Regional Plans Through Local Collaboration
In today’s resource-constrained planning environment, regional and local agencies can’t afford to operate in silos. One Vision, Many Voices highlights how collaboration between a metropolitan planning organization (MPO), a transit agency, and consultants led to more efficient, goal-aligned planning in Palm Beach County, Florida.
Through the lens of the Long-Range Transportation Plan (LRTP) and the Transit Development Plan (TDP), this session explores how Palm Beach TPA, Palm Tran, and Benesch coordinated early and often to align priorities, reduce duplication, and amplify community impact. Presenters will walk through how shared visioning, joint engagement strategies, and transparent workflows not only saved resources—but also produced plans that better reflect the needs of the community.
